LaunchSquad helps its clients to make a name for themselves, grow their business and become market leaders. We've worked with companies to overcome a number of different marketing challenges and use PR as a building block for success.

AppStream

Changing the Face of Application Deployment

AppStream (Palo Alto, CA) provides on-demand application deployment technology that reduces traditional software distribution costs and associated installation problems. In early 2000, AppStream selected LaunchSquad to execute a corporate launch and help the company raise awareness amongst key customer, partner and investor segments.

Setting the Stage for Success

LaunchSquad worked with AppStream's executive team to create a strong messaging and communications framework, prepared company spokespeople for media and analyst engagements, and set the stage for a highly impactful launch.

We then arranged a far-reaching vision tour to introduce AppStream and its technology to the media and analyst communities.

Proving the LaunchSquad Methodology
(AppStream was our first client!)

Focusing its efforts on the real-world business success of AppStream's customers and the pragmatism behind its market vision, LaunchSquad:

  • Initiated positive relationships with more than 40 analysts and reporters.
  • Secured a standalone corporate profile in the Wall Street Journal.
  • Generated standalone news coverage in more than 15 additional media outlets, including CRN, InfoWorld, InternetWeek, Forbes, Upside, Network World, eWeek, CIO and Internet World.
  • The PR launch led directly to a second round of VC funding of $26 million and AppStream's first customers.

Neal Fink, vice president of marketing

"The number of meetings and breadth of coverage was beyond our wildest dreams. LaunchSquad kept putting more meetings on our schedule and the hardest part was trying to get some work done during the weeks leading up to our launch beyond speaking to reporters. The amount of activity throughout our organization increased immeasurably right after the launch, energizing our funding, business development and sales efforts."
